If Clauses YDS'de Nasıl Çıkar?

Koşul cümleleri YDS'de 2-3 sınavda 1 gramer sorusu, cloze test'te 1-2 soru ve çeviri sorularında 1-2 soru olarak karşınıza çıkar. Toplam etki: 3-5 soru. Kuralları bilen biri bu soruların tamamını doğru yanıtlayabilir.

Type 0: Genel Doğrular

Yapı: If + Present Simple, Present Simple. "If you heat water to 100°C, it boils." Bilimsel gerçekler, doğa kuralları. YDS'de nadir ama çeviri sorularında çıkabilir.

Type 1: Gerçek/Muhtemel Koşul

Yapı: If + Present Simple, will + V1. "If the government increases funding, universities will expand their research programs." Gelecekte gerçekleşmesi muhtemel durumlar. YDS'de orta sıklıkta.

Type 2: Hayali/Gerçek Dışı Koşul (Şimdi)

Yapı: If + Past Simple, would/could/might + V1. "If Turkey had more research funding, universities would produce more publications." Şu an gerçek olmayan durumlar. YDS'de EN SIK çıkan tip. İpucu: "would" gördüğünüzde Type 2 düşünün.

Dikkat: "If I were..." (was DEĞİL were) ? resmi İngilizce'de "were" kullanılır.

Type 3: Geçmişte Gerçekleşmemiş Koşul

Yapı: If + Past Perfect, would have + V3. "If researchers had published more, they would have received the grant." Geçmişte olmamış durumlar için pişmanlık/varsayım. YDS'de zor seviye sorularda çıkar.

Karma (Mixed) Koşullar

Type 2+3: If + Past Perfect, would + V1. "If she had studied harder (geçmişte), she would be a professor now (şimdi)." Geçmişteki durum ? şimdiki sonuç.

Type 3+2: If + Past Simple, would have + V3. "If he were more experienced (genel durum), he would have handled the situation better (geçmiş)."

Diğer Koşul Yapıları (YDS'de Sıkça Çıkar)

Unless: = If not. "Unless funding increases, research will decline."

Provided that / As long as: = If (şartıyla). "Provided that ethics approval is obtained, data collection can begin."

In case: = Durumunda. "Researchers should back up data in case of system failure."

Otherwise: = Aksi halde. "Submit the report on time; otherwise, the project will be terminated."

1. Ana cümlede "would" var mı? ? Type 2 (if + Past Simple) veya Mixed.

2. "would have + V3" var mı? ? Type 3 (if + Past Perfect).

3. "will" var mı? ? Type 1 (if + Present Simple).

4. Unless = If not. Cümleyi If not ile çevirip kontrol edin.
